Both Kel and I had been talking about some sort of water-based attraction in the backyard for some time. Every time we go to Disneyland we gush (yuk yuk) over the big waterfall in the back of Critter Country, and I drool all over the fountains in ToonTown (sorry kids). We finally realized our dreams this last year (1997) when we put this little waterfall together in our "quiet place", under the arbor in the backyard. I was pulling for something a little more elaborate involving flying fish, a whale and a clown, but Kel won this round, we made it a natural looking fountain. The next one will be built to MY specs :) There is nothing quite like spending the afternoon, kicking back in a lounge chair with a beer, a good book, and the gently gurgling sound of flowing water.... except for having to pee constantly. The actual workings still need some debugging but next year we hope to perfect it.
