In the winter of 1999/2000 I didn't want the fountain to get yucky. Our winters are pretty mild but can get rather wet. Anyway, I moved the barrel part of it over to the patio and set it all up standalone there. I then pushed all the rocks into the bottom part (after draining) and covered all in plastic.

While the barrel was on the patio my son-in-law taught us all a neat trick. If yer careful, you can slowly blow smoke into the the water bubble and it'll stay there for up to 30 minutes. It was too cool! More on the new fountain in the next slide.
