Between Memorial Day and Labor Day 1997 Kelleye & I took on the second half of our kitchen. We'd done the first half the year before. This half involved: replacing the range with a new oven and downdraft cook-top, removing the old pantry, widening the doorway to the living room, re-doing all of the electrical (moving it to a new circuit), and opening up a new bar/pass-thru to the living room. It also involved installing all new cabinetry, light fixtures, and a tile floor. This is the "Before" picture, taken in May of '97. In it you can see the old range, the old wall paper (yuk), and the old cabinets (which will be installed in the laundry room soon). The door on the right hand side leads to the old pantry which was our very first project in this house. It used to house the water heater, (moved to the garage), which made running gas for the cook-top a little less annoying than it could have been.
