Back at Walnut Creek CDROM I was the sysadmin for the soda machine for quite awhile, so when they were sold to Wind River (after being sold to BSDi) the Concord office closed and the vending machine had to go and I seemed a logical recipient. Luckily Kel still worked there and was able to stick my name on it. It took 3 of us to move the thing out of the office (with a forklift no less!) and there were 5 to help get it in the house. Thanks go to Kel's brother Mike who did the bulk of the work, as well as the son-in-law, Matt. Kel and Adri helped as they could.. mostly by staying out of our way and refreshing our drinks :-).

So why the hell did I want a beverage machine? Ya gotta admit, it's cool. It's an older, not too sophisticated machine so the lowest amount I can charge per can is 5 cents. Ya pays only a nickel tho! We have several BBQs a year and have to fill up coolers with soda and beer and stuff and this should cut that need way back. The next picture shows the coolest thing about it though!
