Oooooo there's a 7 Photo Slideshow!

WHO:

WHEN: October 6th, 7th, & 8th 1996

This was the very last time we ever drove down to Anaheim (probably). Kel and I were just gonna pop down by ourselves for a few days, ostensibly to catch the "very last Main Street Electrical Parade", but at a family gathering during the summer we found out that Kel's Step-Mother, Jan, Step-Sister, Jennifer, and Step-Niece, Madeline were planning a trip for that same reason. They changed their dates to match ours and we planned to meet them. Also planning, on their own, to be down there were Adri and her S.O. Matt. We made plans to meet them as well. It was kinda neat saying we were just meeting them down there for dinner :)

Welp we got down there early Sunday afternoon. Adri & Matt arrived Saturday and, because of over-capacity crowds, couldn't get into the park! Bad sign. Sunday was mucho crowded, and my tolerance for crowdage is overwhelmed at about 20,000 :) We didn't hit many rides, just sorta hung-out. Got to walk backstage which was cool.

Adri & Matt went home that night and Kel and I spent Monday on our own. Crowds were lighter but not the way I like them :) It was a pretty relaxing day nevertheless. Kel and I have seen it all so we have no problem plunking down on a bench with a soda for a couple of hours watching folks. Tuesday we met up with Jan, Jennifer & Madeline. Madeline was 6 years old and as I mention in one of the captions, I am morally opposed to children... in or out of the park :) Madeline became an exception however. We did a test on her by hitting Space Mountain first. She loved it and it was her favorite ride! So we took her on Star Tours. She loved it and it was her favorite ride! So then we crossed our fingers and got into line for Indy. The height requirement for Indy is a bit more strict than for other rides and we were a little worried she wouldn't be tall enough. We poofed up her hat and told her to stand as straight as possible. There was no need. She was tall enough by about 2 inches. We rode. She loved it and it was her favorite ride!

Anyway, we had a great time. I still don't think kids under 19 should be allowed in the park, but if that ever happens I'll sneak Madeline in no problem :). We hated the crowds so much we began planning a trip to coincide with Usenix in January. Then, 16 days after we got home, I fell off a ladder.
