Thru some sort of twist of fate, Matt was able to secure a semi-full-time tour guide upon arrival... I was laid off the week before so had oodles of time to show him around (while looking for another job.. yeah that's it).

On Matts 2nd day we took the PT up to our local State Park, Mt. Diablo. From the house it's about an hour up to the summit (30 minutes in the Miata :) ).

Due to another twist of fate, the weather here in sunny California turned cold and rainy for a couple weeks this spring, coinciding exactly with Matt's trip. We blamed him, of course, for bringing the shitty weather with him. Coldest, wettest April since 1975. Hence our view wasn't that great from the top, but not bad.
