This is a closer-up shot taken right after Slide 17. You can't see it but there is actually a rather extensive plumbing system under the deck, which not only allows the roof gutters to drain harmlessly away from the deck, but also manages to catch the run-off from all of the plants which sit on the deck itself. (Sorry, similar plumbing to prevent run-on sentences here will not be installed).
