Once the sheet-rock was on the walls we just had to see how the lower cabinets would fit.... well we didn't like it. A mid-course direction change was in order. Instead of putting the cook-top against the right-hand wall with a 24" cabinet to it's left (as kinda shown here), we decided to center the cook-top and put a 12" cabinet on either side of it.
This shot gives a pretty good view of the newly widened doorway to the living room. The ceiling fan switch still hasn't moved but this was the day we made the move decision.
