Our next stop on the Tokyo Morning Tour was the Asakusa Kannon Temple. On most days the tour bus would pull right up to the main gate and park there while we spent an hour exploring. On this day however, there was a festival going on, so just about every person living in Tokyo was already there. During the festival, the shrines in the temple are carried around the area, parade-style. Onlookers wear traditional dress and basically party the whole day.

This made seeing the temple difficult. It was like Disneyland on the Fourth of July, but without the damned strollers. Our bus had to drop us off three blocks away, then park somewhere in South Korea. This shot was taken as we made our way to the Temple area.
