DP's Haunted Mansion, or Phantom Manor as they call it, is very cool. Much of the queue area is covered luckily.. it poured while we were there. The outside is appropriately run-down unlike Disneyland's. Inside you enter the stretching room(s) just like Anaheim, which are elevators unlike in WDW. The paintings are NOT Marc Davis' classics however. They kinda suck actually. Once you exit the room, you walk to the Doom Buggy loading area where the changing paintings are the same as DLs. The inverted busts are bronze with green eyes tho which looks really neat.
Either they were broken, or there is no narration. I couldn't find speakers on the Doom Buggy so I assume there was no narration. Same basic plot as DL except more of a story. (Or at least they emphasize the story more. Woman marries prospector (rather than sea captain) who disappears shortly thereafter. She appears in her wedding gown all over the place. Madame Leota's not as well done, and keeps swapping between French & English. Ballroom scene is the wedding reception. Attic scene very similar to DL. Then things get weird. Instead of descending into the backyard cemetery, you enter a cavern (backwards and downhill just like DL). The singing busts are there (but backwards) and that's the only time you hear Grim Grinning Ghosts. Not many ghosts, but lots of decaying corpses.. much more gruesome. Then for some reason you go thru a western town with a shoot-out, a saloon with a lady waving at you, and a bunch of other non-sequitors... The raven makes several appearances. No hitchhiking ghosts... one just catches a ride on the back of your Doom-Buggy. Hurry-back Witch is exactly the same as you exit. We rode this one twice to catch all the details. Very fun.
