This is our final view of the QE2 as we pulled away from the terminal on our way to the airport. Kinda big ain't it :)

The bus trip thru NYC to JFK was uneventful and boring. Kel, having never been here, found it interesting but the traffic drove me up the wall. We got to the airport about 45 minutes before our flight was set to depart. We were flying United and it was a very unique flight thanks to the captain. What a character! He stationed himself at the check-in counter and greeted all of us, letting us know that there were some hairy storms we would have to fly through so to expect a bumpy ride. Then, once on the plane he walked up and down the aisle helping people stow their bags.

Well it WAS a bumpy flight. United broadcasts the main flight radio on one of the audio channels so we listened for most of the trip while the captain kept asking other pilots if things were smoother at their altitude. He reminded me of Ross Perot. :) Things calmed down about the time we got to around Colorado and the flight was uneventful after that.

Jet lag wasn't as bad coming home as it was going TO England... musta been that 6-day thing :)
