We also put a finishing coat of thinset on the back wall to make it nice and smooth, while plugging the last couple of leaks on that side. We brought the thinset all the way up to the bricks on the other side, but only did gravel up to the skirt, placing larger rocks randonly along the top of the skirt. Gave it a beach-like look.
