We had a brilliant plan for this trip... two actually. I had really been getting into rec.arts.disney and had been soaking up hints and tricks like there was no tomorrow. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was set to open the last week of February and we REALLY wanted to see it. We are all allergic to crowds however so some planning was needed. On the net I saw a couple of things that got me thinkin'. One was that there would most likely be a "soft-opening" of Indy the week before the official opening. They'd done it for ToonTown, and for Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin so they'd prolly do it for Indy too. The other item of interest was a thread about private parties after-hours at the park. Disney rents out the park to private companies after-hours during the off-season. Apparently the Disney folks aren't too thorough about clearing the day crowds before they have to let the private crowds in, so if you stay low, you can stay for the party. It was a sure-bet that any party would include a preview of Indy, they had for the last month. There was a party scheduled for our first night.

Both brilliant plans fell through. There was indeed a soft-opening for Indy, but it was a special one for Cast Members and their families. There was no way to sneak in :( The second plan fell through because we were tired and cold, and got bored waiting for the park to let in the party. It was the employees of some nearby city. We hung out on Main Street and walked around Frontierland, trying to look inconspicuous, but we kept getting the hairy eyeball from CMs so we gave up. We wouldn't ride Indy till the following October.

Other than the Indy stuff, the trip was pretty mellow and unmemorable.
