The doors on the right and at the end of this area lead to display rooms filled with jewels, kaftans and other Sultan related art objects. Not allowed to take pics and they were serious. One guy snapped a picture in front of me and the guards were over in a shit. They took away his camera and deleted the picture right there. I can understand not wanting flashes used because a flash will, over time, fade colors on paintings and clothing. I also understand the "need to keep to crowd moving" reasoning behind many of the Egyptian camera restrictions, but this just smacked of wanting to be able to sell the picture book outside...
