In October 2008 Kel and I visited the Middle East. We started in Istanbul, Turkey,
made our way from there to Cairo, Egypt, then flew south to Abu Simbel and Aswan,
Egypt. We took a Nile Cruise from Aswan, north to Luxor, then flew back to
Cairo for a few more days. We spent 1 day out in the El Fayoum Oasis area, then
flew to Amman, Jordan. After a day sightseeing there, we traveled south to the
ancient city of Petra. Our final day was a drive back north through the Wadi Araba
and along the Dead Sea, back to Amman and our flight home.
It was a whirlwind with a lot of moving around and very little sleep. We
took over 4200 photos, of which I am putting about 450 here. We posted a lot
more on our Flickr pages, but these
here are the cream of the crop.
As usual, Kel is hosting our Trip Diary
on her site.
