We took a London Walks Explorer Day to Bath on April 11th. We met at Paddington Station which was walking distance from our hotel. Our guide, Hilary, herded all 40 or so of us onto a train for an hour and ten minute journey west. Kel and I got to sit together this time! We arrived around 10:30 and proceeded to walk all over the place. The weather was cooperative for once. We had lunch in a Pub that had a beer-garden which was quite nice. The only downside was the lack of time we had to see the Roman Baths, 45 minutes. Even worse though was having to listen to a fellow San Franciscan whine and complain loudly about said lack of time for the rest of the tour. The walk back to the train station was interesting. We were all supposed to meet at like 4:45 in front of the Bath Cathedral, but by 5 minutes to 5 we were still missing one person. Hilary showed us the way to the station then ran back to the Cathedral to wait some more. As the train pulled up, she ran onto the platform without the lost sheep... hope the woman made it back to London OK :)
An all around great day and as always, we recommend the Original London Walks for all your touring needs while in London or thereabouts.
