On Sunday we wanted to take the famous Jack The Ripper Walk done by London Walks. This is their most popular walk and has many copycats. One of the premier Ripper experts is the guide, though on busy nights there is a second guide and they split the group between them. Up until this point we had not had a bad guide so we opted to go with the second string cuz the group was smaller. Well while our guide (who shall remain nameless) wasn't really bad, it was probably the most disjointed and boring walk we'd done. We met at Tower Hill Station, and while waiting for the tour to start we took this rather nice sunset shot of the Tower. It was pretty. On the tour itself we walked around a very eerily empty London. No cars, and the only other people we saw were fellow tourists. The walk ended at one of the seediest pubs we'd seen on this trip. I think the only business they get is from the Ripper Walk crowd. On our last trip, all the nights were cold and wet so we reluctantly skipped the Ripper Walk and regretted it immensely... until this time. Now we don't feel so bad. If you take the tour, make sure you go with Donald as I have the feeling his version is better than the one we got.
