Into another lock and this shot shows the plate attached to the lock telling us what year it was last rebuilt. 1992 for this one. I'll not go into the whole history of the canals here but just say that they were built a long time ago, the railroads put'em out of business, they fell apart and became overgrown and unpassable. In the 60s, 70s, and into the 90s a movement to restore them took hold and many of the old canals are now navigable for recreational purposes. Anyway, this lock was rebuilt in 1992.
