This is the summit building on Mt. Diablo. The searchlight on top is lit once a year on Dec. 7th to commemorate Pearl Harbor. On the first floor is a rather nice visitor's center (i.e. displays of dead animals and a gift shop) where Matt bought his first souvenir of the trip.
