Shot from the Castle, this is a view of the New Town section of the city. It was planned and built in the 1700s. They held a contest in order to get the best plan then the winner got to build it. It has nice wide streets and all of the buildings face (originally private) parks. The street below is Princes Street, the shopping district of Edinburgh. The green area in front of it is now a public park.
