We arrived in York and immediately took a cab here, to our hotel, the Heworth Court Hotel. We didn't actually stay in that building though. The next slide shows the building 2 doors down, the Sutherland House, where our room was. The people here were extremely friendly and I felt really bad that I'd sent panicky email when they didn't respond fast enough to my reservation inquiries. We had breakfast here every morning and it was fab. We had dinner there the first night and while it was great, it was a bit more expensive than eating at pubs...
It was a short 15 minute walk to the city walls... and a very long 15 minute walk in the sleet to the city walls:). All in all we recommend it highly.
