As it'd been a frustrating, tiring afternoon, we all decided to go to a pub for dinner instead of making Marge cook. They piled us all into 2 cabs and then Capt. Bill and son Phil showed up with the minivan. They joined us as well and we had a big party of it at the Barge Inn downstream.
At this point we also discussed what we could do schedule-wise. We wanted Carissa to see some of Bath and the plan had been to arrive there in the morning-ish, do some sightseeing, then catch the 3:30 train to London. With the Locks shut for the next day, Marge suggested we take the train to Bath tomorrow, do some sight-seeing, then come back and we could hopefully go down the flight the following day. We'd get as close to Bath as possible then they'd drive us the rest of the way. She even convince British Waterways to pay for our cab and train! So all was not lost. Dinner was meh btw but the company was fun.
