American Waterfront

The American Waterfront is the first land you come to as you move clockwise around the park. It has 2 sections, the New York Harbor and the Cape Cod Harbor. The weenie in this land is the huge ocean liner Columbia, which houses a large restaurant and bar. The New York area reminds me a lot of the New York Backlot at Disney Studios in Florida. It is pretty much full scale and represents the 1910-1930 era. The Cape Cod section has a bunch of little buildings but is mostly just theming. Picturesque but not much to do.

There are, as yet, no E-Tickets but there were construction walls up and a large bit of land being graded while we were there. It would be a good place for a Tower of Terror. There are three attractions, the Big-City Vehicles, the DisneySea Electric Railway and the Transit Steamers. The Big-City Vehicles are little cars and delivery trucks you can get a ride on ala the Main Street Vehicles. They drive you SSLLOOWWLLYY from one end of the land to the other. The Electric Railway is a really neat elevated trolly which provides transportation to the adjacent Port Discovery. The Transit Steamers are the boats that travel around the park. If you board here, you get a round-trip tour of the park.
