Mysterious Island is one of the neatest themed lands I've ever seen in a Disney Park. Number 2 is the Mermaid Lagoon but you'll see that later. The entire land is in a big crater, part of Mt. Prometheus. At the bottom is a "lake" with 2 outlets, one into the Mediterranean Harbor, the other heads back to the Arabian Coast and the Lost River Delta. The Transit Steamers cruise through periodically. It is meant to resemble Captain Nemo's Vulcania. As a matter of fact, there's a rather good Chinese restaurant called Vulcania in this land.

The main walkway is elevated about 20 feet above the water. You can walk all the way around it. There are various cave openings along the way. One leads to the Mediterranean Harbor, one to the Mermaid Lagoon, and one to Port Discovery. There is another cave leading to Tokyo DisneySea's premier attraction Journey To The Center Of The Earth. A ride which was closed for it's yearly rehab while we were there. :-(. On the opposite side from that is another E-Ticket, the 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea attraction. The queue for that winds down a circular walkway to water level, then into another cave.

There is a nice gift shop and an almost full-sized Nautilus you can walk down to and look in the windows of. Mt. Prometheus eruptions are quite impressive from here. The low frequency rumble goes right through your bones. This was my favorite land, just for the esthetics.
